Public Road Near Aluva Railway Station Allegedly Blocked and Encroached Upon During Building Renovation

In Ward 11 of Aluva Municipality, a section of St. Antony’s Church Road, which provides convenient access to Aluva Railway Station for devotees visiting St. Antony’s Monastery and students attending Jeevas School, has reportedly been blocked by a private individual by installing and locking a gate.

As part of the renovation work of the Alankar Tourist Home building, it is alleged that a municipal road and a public drainage channel have been encroached upon, with soil, construction debris, and waste materials dumped in the area.

Notably, this municipal road and public drainage system were renovated between January and March 2017 under the supervision of the Municipality Secretary, Engineer, Overseer, and other municipal officials.

Mini-Lorry Driver's Quick Action Saves Toddler on Busy Aluva Road

A two-and-a-half-year-old child miraculously escaped danger after wandering onto a busy road through the open gate of a preschool.

The incident occurred this morning on the busy road connecting Thottumugham and Edayappuram in Aluva. The toddler ran from a private preschool named Kids Republic, located by the roadside, onto the heavily trafficked road.

A mini-lorry driver passing by noticed the child standing in the middle of the road. He immediately sounded the horn, stopped the vehicle, and rushed out to help. The people in the vehicle ensured the child's safety and contacted others for assistance.

Even during this time, the preschool management was reportedly unaware of the incident. The negligence of the private preschool's management, particularly in leaving the gate open, was cited as the reason for the dangerous situation.
